The future is bright for Debora Jelangat from Kericho County and Celestine Chelagat. They are currently taking a one year certificate course in refrigeration and Air conditions at the Eldoret technical training Institute (ETTI) sponsored by GIZ Green Cooling Initiative III to pursue their dreams of becoming RAC technicians. The scholarship plays a pivotal role in lifting a significant burden, enabling children to focus on their studies rather than being preoccupied with the financial challenges they face at home. 

Within one week of CO₂-Training at the "CO2OLacademy", eight refrigeration technicians and policy makers from the cooling sector learnt how to handle this natural refrigerant.

The third Stage of the Brazilian Hydrochlorofluorocarbons Phase-out Management Plan (HPMP) was approved during the 94th Meeting of the Executive Committee of the Multilateral Fund for the Implementation of the Montreal Protocol, which took place between May 27th and May 30th. The country will count with US$ 36,5 million to implement the third and last phase of the program that aims to achieve the elimination of 100% of HCFC consumption by 2030.

Sin embargo, la mayoría de las NDC carecen de acciones concretas y estrategias aplicables para el sector de los RAC.

 

A training workshop in the Philippines offered the opportunity to find solustions to create more incentives for consumers to invest in energy efficient and climate-friendly appliances. Like this the cooling sector in the country should be able to fulfil its crimate targets.

Grenada underscored its commitment for reducing greenhouse gas emissions and promoting energy efficiency in the cooling sector with the successful convening of a stakeholder workshop on its Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) for the refrigeration and air conditioning (RAC) sector.
