Building on Grenada's National Cooling Action Plan published in 2021, the NDC Cooling Implementation Roadmap 2025-2030 sets out a comprehensive and actionable framework to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and enhance climate resilience through sustainable cooling solutions.
As the next five years are decisive for Grenada's climate-resilient future, the roadmap details specific mitigation actions, assigns responsibilities to key stakeholder groups, and identifies potential financing sources. It is both a call to action and a guide for implementation, inviting all stakeholders to work together towards a shared vision of a cooler, cleaner, and more resilient Grenada.
The successful implementation of this roadmap will rely on three critical pillars:
- coordinated policy action,
- sustained investment and,
- strong collaboration between national stakeholders and international partners.
By aligning efforts across government, the private sector, and civil society, and by leveraging technical and financial support, Grenada can unlock significant mitigation and adaptation benefits and has the opportunity to position itself as a regional leader in sustainable cooling and a frontrunner in climate innovation.
The document was commissioned by the Government of Grenada and was created through the support of the Cool Contributions fighting Climate Change II project. The expertise and collaboration of Grenada's National Ozone Unit (NOU) at the Ministry of Climate Resilience, the Environment and Renewable Energy were indispensable for the realization of this report.
The project Cool Contributions fighting Climate Change C4 II is implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Nuclear Safety and Consumer Protection (BMUV) as part of the International Climate Initiative (IKI).
