German technical school trains with R290 split AC

03/12/2018 , Actualité :

Since October 2018, the German technical school for refrigeration and air-conditioning, Bundesfachschule Kälte-Klima-Technik (BFS), has extended its training facility equipment by a state-of-the-art R290 split AC unit. BFS received a highly efficient propane split AC inverter unit for training purposes from Midea Europe.

BFS principal, Dr. Ralf Catanescu, is happy that “students can practice with new products to study similarities and differences to conventional technologies in order to prepare them for upcoming new technology solutions in the market”. Students will gain hands-on training on the safe and energy-efficient operation of this split AC unit using propane as refrigerant. Lecturer, Christopher Bösel, states that “given the compliance with the appropriate safety standards, the installation of such a unit follows the same steps than for any other conventional split AC unit”.

BFS offers more than 50 years of experience in a wide range of training and study programmes for RAC technicians. Since 2014, on behalf of Proklima, BFS has trained 220 RAC trainers and technicians as well as National Ozone Unit (NOU) officers in the safe handling of flammable refrigerants.
