Meilleures pratiquesProduct: China’s first exporter of natural refrigerants
ICOOL, within the Ninhua Group, is the first local company to export natural refrigerants in entire China. In 2012, almost 30000 tons of refrigerants were exported. ICOOL specializes on a range of natural refrigerants including propane (R290), isobutane (R600a) and carbon-dioxide (R744). These are non-ozone depleting, non-corrosive, non-toxic and non-global warming potential alternatives to synthetic refrigerants. Natural refrigerants can be used for a range of applications in both commerical and industrial markets. ICOOL instructs their customers on the correct use and application of natural refrigerants, particularly hydrocarbons. They deliver the clear message that hydrocarbon refrigerants are already in use in many places and that the application of them is not as dangerous as generally believed. …
Meilleures pratiquesProduct: Minus 10 - Hydrocarbon refrigerant for domestic & commercial refrigerators
Hychill’s Minus 10 is a high-purity, isobutane (R600a) refrigerant used in state-of-the art commercial and domestic refrigeration. It provides all benefits associated with hydrocarbon refrigerants while simultaneously avoiding environmental damage and global warming. Minus 10 was developed primarily for use in purpose built systems designed for R600a, including light commercial systems, wine coolers and drink display cabinets. Reduced operating pressure and excellent heat absorption capacity provide users with up to 30% energy consumption reduction. Its superior thermodynamic properties make it an ideal refrigerant for use in 6-star Energy Efficiency rating systems. …
Meilleures pratiquesProduct: Minus 40 - Hydrocarbon refrigerant for refrigeration systems in supermarkets and shops
Hychills’ Minus 40 hydrocarbon refrigerant is a high-purity, propane (R290) refrigerant used in medium to low temperature refrigeration systems such as supermarkets and shops. Minus 40 provides all benefits associated with hydrocarbon refrigerants while simultaneously avoiding environmental damage and global warming. Minus 40 is commonly used in small-scale cooling appliances such as food display cabinets and ice cream and drink dispensing machines. It is also ideal for use in split system air conditioners. Reduced operating pressure and excellent heat absorption capacity provide users with up to 30% reduction in energy consumption. Its superior thermodynamic properties make it an ideal refrigerant for use in 6-star Energy Efficiency rating systems. Hydrocarbon refrigerants are flammable, and therefore require accredited technicians to install and maintain them. HyChill hydrocarbon refrigerants carry a distinctive “rotting cabbage” odour so that any leak is immediately noticed and rectified. …
Meilleures pratiquesProduct: Minus 30 - Hydrocarbon refrigerant for mobile air conditioning
Hychill’s Minus 30 is a mixture of isobutane (R600a) and propane (R290), two hydrocarbon refrigerant gases, and is designed for use in automotive air conditioning systems and medium temperature refrigeration units. Minus 30 provides all benefits associated with hydrocarbon refrigerants while simultaneously avoiding environmental damage and global warming. Minus 30 is ideal for use in small commercial refrigeration and air-conditioning systems where R12 has traditionally been used. It provides superior efficiency, lower cooling temperatures, extended ambient temperature operating range and reliable performance. The reduced operating pressure and excellent heat absorption capacity provide consumers with a reduction in fuel consumption of up to 20%. Hydrocarbon refrigerants are flammable, and therefore require accredited technicians to install and maintain them. HyChill hydrocarbon refrigerants carry a distinctive “rotting cabbage” odour so that any leak is immediately noticed and rectified. …
MembreHyChill
HyChill refrigerants are produced from naturally occurring hydrocarbon gases, which are purified and blended using unique HyChill processes. The end result is the brand renowned for its consistency and quality. HyChill refrigerants have no ozone impact and minimal GWP. HyChill hydrocarbon refrigerants have been adopted as ideal replacement for synthetic refrigerants such as R134a, R22, R404a or R410a in most air conditioning, refrigeration and heating applications. HyChill refrigerants perform superbly in all conditions and work particularly well in extremely hot or tropical conditions, where most other and especially synthetic refrigerants (CFC, HFC, HCFC) fail to maintain performance. Superior efficiency of HyChill hydrocarbon refrigerants, combined with reduced charge weight results in great installation cost savings and on-going energy use savings for the customer. HyChill hydrocarbon refrigerants are compliant with relevant national and international standards, such as: ISO 5149, the ISO/IEC 60335 series, BS 4434–1995 as well as AS/NZS 1677. …
Meilleures pratiquesProject: Room air-conditioner conversion project
Between 2008 and 2013, GIZ Proklima, on behalf of the German Environmental Ministry, supported the Indian company Godrej & Boyce to introduce hydrocarbon-driven (R290) split and room air conditioners to the Indian Market. Godrej & Boyce have installed a production line for R290 ACs while considering the necessary safety procedures to counter the risks arising from flammable hydrocarbon-based technology. Product certification and technician training are also a focus of the project. The new ACs have been designed according to European safety standards and have the highest energy efficiency in their class, hereby saving electricity costs and reducing indirect emissions. Each production line produces around 180,000 HCFC-free, energy efficient units annually. The direct and indirect emissions saved by these units, compared to earlier models using F-gases, amount to around 1 million tonnes of CO2 equivalent. …
Meilleures pratiquesProduct: India’s first R290 air conditioner
Since developing India’s first commercially available hydrocarbon (R290) air conditioner in 2012 in collaboration with GIZ and the Indian government, Godrej & Boyce have sold over 100,000 air conditioning units and now boast an annual production capacity of 180,000 units. Given the lack of national standards for natural refrigerants in India, Godrej & Boyce filled a market gap when developing the country’s first R290 air conditioning technology. The family business received an investment grant from the German Environment Ministry’s International Climate Initiative (IKI). The green technology was designed to find a balance between electricity consumption and environmental impact. With an Energy Efficiency Ratio (EER) of 3.9, the R290 ACs save up to 10% energy compared to five-star air-conditioners. Godrej & Boyce now hold a 13% market share in the five-star AC market in India, making it the third largest shareholder. Current models are restricted by a hydrocarbon charge size limit of 350 grams and 12,000-18,000 British thermal units, but Godrej & Boyce is seeking technological support from other manufacturers to achieve higher capacities. …
MembreGodrej & Boyce Mfg. Co. Ltd.
India’s first manufacturer to convert to hydrocarbons Godrej was the first Indian company to manufacture hydrocarbon fridges in the 1990s. In 2012, Godrej & Boyce Mfg. Co. Ltd. launched a new production line for split air-conditioners using propane (HC-290). The new models consume less energy than the current models with the highest energy efficiency ratings from other brands available in India. …

Meilleures pratiquesSuccess story: Parilla Potato Cold Storage Facility
In 2012/2013, Glaciem Cooling Technologies in collaboration with the University SA Barbara Hardy Institute and Alltech Refrigeration launched the Parilla Potato Project. Parilla Potatoes is a large, refrigerated storage facility located in South Australia. The basis for the design of the Parilla Potato Project is a secondary refrigeration system that uses a critically charged ammonia chiller as the primary refrigerant and Dynalene HC30 as a secondary refrigerant. Moreover, the design also includes the use of a Thermal Storage System using Phase Change Material (PCM). The PCM is cooled by the primary ammonia plant overnight using off peak electricity, and the Dynalene uses the thermal storage of the PCM to provide refrigeration during peak operating hours. In 2014, the system won the AIRAH Best HVAC&R Retrofit/Upgrade award. …
