Best practiceProduct: Energy-optimized Propane Compressors
Secop enhances its R290 compressor program with the release of a new generation of propane compressors for LBP and MBP applications, such as bottle coolers, ice cream cabinets, and commercial refrigerators. The new DLE, NLE/NLY, and SCE compressors are tailored for commercial use and capable of replacing products made for high-global warming potential (GWP) refrigerants, such as R404A and R134a. With optional run capacitors, the efficiency can be further increased if required. Given their versatility and reliability, Secop’s new generation of energy-optimized propane compressors achieve maximum performance for an array of refrigeration/freezer applications. A GWP of three is achievable with the powerful, efficient R290 DLE-CN, NLE/NLY-CN, and SCE-MNX compressors, designed for LBP/MBP applications, such as bottle coolers, commercial freezers, food retail and ice-cream cabinets, etc.. …
Best practiceProduct: Environmentally-friendly compressors for medical cold chain solutions
The reliability of medical cooling equipment is essential to ensure the quality and usability of highly sensitive substances such as pharmaceuticals, vaccines, cells, genes and blood. By combining energy-efficiency with the use of natural refrigerants, compressor manufacturer Secop provides sustainable cooling solutions for a broad range of applications and temperature levels inside the world-wide supply chain of biomedical processing, transport, and storage. The D-, N-, and S-Series compressors can be used to establish a reliable ULT (ultra low temperature) cold chain. Combined with the variable speed CCD°® drive controls, the ability to adjust the cooling capacity makes Secop's stationary and mobile solutions advantageous in regions with unstable power supplies. In particular, the Solar Direct Drive (SDD) can support the vaccine distribution in regions with a limited power grid and in severe ambient conditions. Secop's compressor and control electronic solutions in different applications are officially certified by WHO (World Health Organization). …
Best practiceProduct: Environmentally-friendly refrigerant for mobile air-conditioning
Linde operates in 40 countries on 5 continents, strongly supporting the automotive industry in introducing carbon dioxide (R744) as an environmentally-friendly refrigerant in car air conditioning systems. R744 is a high purity carbon dioxide refrigerant with no Ozone Depletion Potential and minimal Global Warming Potential. A low moisture content of less than 10 ppm means that R744 works more effectively and has a less corrosive impact on your refrigeration system. Moreover, R744 has ideal thermodynamic properties and low energy consumption, making it suitable for a range of applications including industrial heat extraction and commercial refrigeration. R744 provides customers with a cost-efficient solution that suits a range of requirements while simultaneously preventing environmental damage and meeting environmental regulations. …
Best practiceProduct: FXP compact chillers
The FXP series comprises 3 power sizes of extremely compact water-cooled chillers, which are intended for modular arrangement. The modules are particularly suitable for retrofit applications, when the installation allows only very limited unit dimensions. The individual modules have a cooling capacity of up to 45 kW and cover outlet temperatures from +20 to -15°C. As a rule, several modules are always installed in a hydraulic network. This results in excellent reliability and very good controllability of partial loads. If desired, the individual modules can be controlled separately or via a central control system. …
Best practiceProduct: Green tomorrow, comfortable today- the PURIX A25 split district cooling system
The PURIX A25 split system converts low-temperature heat sources into cooling. Substituting expensive electricity with cheap and low-quality energy sources to generate cooling is a unique opportunity to turn district heating into district cooling whilst reducing costs, environmental impact and greenhouse gas emissions. The flexible product design of the A25 split system enables integration with interior design and architecture. Dependent on the building layout and cooling demand, the A25 supports both mono- and multi split installations. It operates with pure water as a natural refrigerant, herby ensuring 0 ozone depletion potential (ODP) and global warming potential (GWP). The chiller modules are fitted with a cooling capacity of 2.5 kW each, which may be combined to systems up to a total cooling capacity of 160 kW. …
Best practiceProduct: Green tomorrow, comfortable today- the PURIX A25s split solar cooling system
The PURIX A25s split solar cooling system is powered by solar energy and operates with 100% natural refrigerants. By replacing conventional, expensive electricity for absorption cooling with solar heating, the PURIX A25s offers a great opportunity to reduce costs, environmental impact and greenhouse gas emissions. The flexible product design of the A25s split solar system enables integration with interior design and architecture. Dependent on the building layout and cooling demand, the A25s supports both mono- and multi split installations. The solar panels may be integrated onto the roof surface, mounted on the rooftops or on the ground. With a nominal cooling capacity of 2.5kW, the A25s addresses the market for small applications, such as offices and hotel rooms. …
Best practiceProduct: Hydrocarbon Free Cooling Chillers
DPAC UK are now supplying a range of hydrocarbon chillers using Frascold semi-hermetic compressors and Carel micropressor controls. The Free Cooling Chillers effectively use low outdoor temperatures to assist with the cooling process. Many chillers have difficulties operating in low outdoor temperatures. DPAC’s Free Cooling Chillers make energetic use of the low outdoor air temperature, hereby assisting the cooling process and enabling the chiller to work efficiently at low ambient temperatures. Over a 12-month period, the Free Cooling Chillers may result in energy savings of up to 50%. Refrigerant: Hydrocarbon Cooling capacity: Up to 1620 kW Energy efficiency: ESEER values more than 32% higher, compared to units equipped with constant speed screw compressors. Energy efficiency rating: 3.87 …

Best practiceProduct: Ice by night, air-conditioning by day: the TSU-C/D ice thermal storage
The TSU-C/D ice thermal storage unit by the Baltimore Aircoil Company (BAC) provides a constant near-freezing water (1-2 °C) supply for applications such as food processing, breweries and dairies at the lowest first cost. The external melt system of the TSU-C/D unit stores cooling as ice when cooling demand and/or energy rates are low (mostly overnight), and releases cooling for air-conditioning when cooling demand and/or energy rates are high (usually daytime). As the TSU-C/D forms ice overnight when electricity costs are cheapest and condensing temperatures are lowest, operational costs as well as the carbon footprint are lowered. As with all BAC cooling towers, the TSU-C/D model is independently certified by the Cooling Technology Institute (CTI), hereby ensuring that published thermal capacities reflect actual thermal performance. This eliminates the need for customers to perform costly individual cooling tower testing. …
Best practiceProduct: India’s first R290 air conditioner
Since developing India’s first commercially available hydrocarbon (R290) air conditioner in 2012 in collaboration with GIZ and the Indian government, Godrej & Boyce have sold over 100,000 air conditioning units and now boast an annual production capacity of 180,000 units. Given the lack of national standards for natural refrigerants in India, Godrej & Boyce filled a market gap when developing the country’s first R290 air conditioning technology. The family business received an investment grant from the German Environment Ministry’s International Climate Initiative (IKI). The green technology was designed to find a balance between electricity consumption and environmental impact. With an Energy Efficiency Ratio (EER) of 3.9, the R290 ACs save up to 10% energy compared to five-star air-conditioners. Godrej & Boyce now hold a 13% market share in the five-star AC market in India, making it the third largest shareholder. Current models are restricted by a hydrocarbon charge size limit of 350 grams and 12,000-18,000 British thermal units, but Godrej & Boyce is seeking technological support from other manufacturers to achieve higher capacities. …
