Worldwide, over 12 million people are employed in the refrigeration and air conditioning industry, and the sector keeps growing. In many regions, there is a significant shortage of skilled labour. Despite this fact, women remain strongly underrepresented. According to data gathered by the International Institute of Refrigeration (IIR), the percentage of women who are members of national refrigeration and air conditioning organizations is only 6%.
About this side event
In this interactive side event, we will explore the challenges that women face at different stages of their career path in the cooling sector. And how we can reduce these barriers.
Participants are invited to bring in their own experiences and ideas. Furthermore, we will present data and recommendations for action from a new report and handbook by the Green Cooling Initiative (GCI).
