As cooling demand accelerates, natural refrigerants provide climate‑friendly alternatives to gases with high global warming potenials. GIZ Proklima’s Cool Training delivers intensive, hands‑on in‑person courses on the safe use of natural refrigerants (e.g. R290, R744, R717), with a dedicated track for policy makers. Register now to advance sustainable, energy‑efficient cooling in your country.

Course contents

  • Basics of refrigeration;
  • characteristics, advantages and policies for natural refrigerants; 
  • ozone and climate protection, implementation pathways; 
  • Safe use of propane (R290), CO2 (R744), ammonia (R717)

The course language is English. The course takes place at the vocational training institute Bundesfachschule Kälte-Klima-Technik (BFS) in Maintal, Germany.

Please note that all costs must be covered by the participant or a sponsoring organization. Course fee: 1950 euros (net).
Training fees include class materials, lunches on training days, a company visit, and transportation from the hotel to the training site. Accommodation and travel costs are not included.
