The Green Cooling Initiative III and the Thai Department of Skill Development have the same goal: to promote the transition to technologies that reduce environmental impact by improving the skills of refrigeration technicians.
The Green Cooling Initiative (GCI) III collaborates with the Department of Skill Development to enhance the capabilities of both public and private sectors in the Green Cooling Approach: Empowering Refrigeration Technicians for a Climate-Friendly Future. The main goal is to promote the transition to technologies that reduce environmental impact by improving the skills of refrigeration technicians.
This is achieved through the development of a curriculum on "Management of Environmentally Friendly Natural Refrigerants" and providing skill-upgrading training. This initiative not only enhances the skills of technicians but also supports the development of personnel as skill standard examiners. It includes an 18-hour training course for becoming a Skill Standard Examiner in the field of Air Conditioning Technician (Home and Small Commercial Use) Level 2. This will improve the quality of testing and training nationwide, enabling Thailand to adapt and establish itself as a leader in sustainable refrigeration technology.

The project Green Cooling Initiative III is implemented by GIZ Proklima and financed by the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Nuclear Safety and Consumer Protection (BMUV) as part of the International Climate Initiative (IKI).
