The global project Cool Contribution fighting Climate Change II (C4 II) presented best practices in gender mainstreaming in the refrigeration and air conditioning (RAC) sector in Grenada at the “Regional Workshop for Women in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning”, which was held back-to-back with the “Thematic Network Meeting of the National Ozone Officers (NOOs) from the English-speaking Caribbean and Haiti” from 13 to 14 November 2023 in Trinidad.

She played a key leadership role in the actions under the Montreal Protocol in Brazil, including the HPMP Project, which represented a direct impact in the ozone layer preservation.

30.01.2024 News A Cool Collaboration on Carbon Dioxide as R744 Refrigerant
In November 2023, a training of trainers was organised jointly by C4II (Cool Contributions Fighting Climate Change) and the Food Cold Chain (FCC) project implemented by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) funded by the Global Environment Facility (GEF). The trainers were trained on the Operation, Servicing and Maintenance of R744 Carbon Dioxide as low global warming potential (GWP) refrigerant for Industrial Refrigeration from 20-24 November 2024 at Cold Chain Innovation Hub or CCI-Hub at the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) in Taguig City, Philippines.

The Montreal Protocol Pavilion at COP28 showcased the Montreal Protocol's achievements in climate protection. GIZ Proklima participated as one of 16 partners, aiming to advance Green Cooling. For the first time, the pavilion provided a platform for the Montreal Protocol and the cooling community to promote climate action. The Ozone to Cool Zone pavilion aimed to spread awareness, scale efforts, and unlock innovation for solutions to minimize the cooling sector's negative climate impacts, advance sustainability goals, and unlock more effective solutions. For this Cool Talk, we have had the opportunity to interview Kim Christensen,
Founder and CEO of Fenagy. Kim is a mechanical engineer; throughout his career he has been working with many different types of refrigerants. He has been part of the refrigeration industry since his first job in 1994 at the Danish Institute of Technology, who was the forerunner on natural refrigerants in the late '80s and the early '90s.
