The webinar is about environmentally, climate and ozone friendly technologies for Refrigeration and Air Conditioning (RAC) technologies in the hotel and tourism sector.
Green RAC technologies are available in almost all countries. By “green” technology, it refers to appliances and systems that have zero impact on the ozone layer, ultra-low or zero Global Warming Potential (GWP below 10), are PFAS free and do not break down to TFA and have therefore no negative environmental impact and are also highly energy efficient.
The webinar started with opening remarks by the GCI III project manager, Ellen Michel, and continued with the key speaker, Philipp Denzinger, GIZ Proklima. He provided insights into which technologies are appropriate for which types of applications, taking into account system capabilities, final application, and other relevant considerations. He showed the way to achieve a large part of the decarbonization of this sector and the benefits of being carbon neutral hotel. Additionally, he showed the influence of these technologies in the marketing of the hotel, the decrease of energy costs and their compliance with respective national and international policies that will mark the future of the RAC sector in the tourism industry.
