These hydrocarbon pilot systems have already been successfully audited and certified with view to its safety compliance by German auditors. Ranging from air-cooled and water-cooled chillers to packaged AC unit, each system is equipped with monitoring devices to measure the energy performance during operation. The assessment highlights significant electricity savings for the operator and shows great potential in supporting the Government of Indonesia in reducing the greenhouse gas emissions in the related subsector.

On behalf of the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMU) (Ouvrira une nouvelle fenêtre), the Green Chillers NAMA (Ouvrira une nouvelle fenêtre) project jointly implemented by the Directorate General of New, Renewable Energy and Energy Conservation (EBTKE) and GIZ support the advancement of framework conditions for the deployment of more efficient AC and process chillers. Seven pilot projects for demonstration and training purposes have been commissioned so far.
