West Coast College (WCC) envisions to be an internationally recognized Technical, Vocational, Education and Training (TVET) institution responsive to the skills development and training needs of the 21st century. It provides TVET services of relevance and has a responsive programme qualification mix by training students to be skilled, employable and entrepreneurial; and have access to and achieve success in Higher Education. WCC was selected for a pilot project of the Partnership between Bavaria and South Africa’s Western Cape region on climate-friendly cooling technologies – training, technical advice, and knowledge and technology transfer in 2019. In the scope of the pilot project, a training on hydrocarbon refrigerants for RAC students was conducted at WCC with training material provided by GIZ Proklima and equipment donated by GCI.
