Subsectors: Mobile air conditioning, Unitary air conditioning

Mexico has demonstrated its leadership in the area of climate change by establishing synergies for the efficient use of energy and the protection of the ozone layer, as well as by fulfilling its commitments with the Montreal Protocol in a timely manner. As proof of this, in 2010 the consumption of chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs), substances used in refrigeration, air conditioning, aerosols and polyurethane foams, was totally eliminated in the country. That is why for the Ministry of the Environment and Natural Resources (SEMARNAT) and the National Polytechnic Institute (IPN) it is a priority to continue the policies and actions that contribute to mitigating and reducing the major global environmental problems that are climate change damage to the ozone layer.
