Cool your NDC

The Refrigeration and Air Conditioning (RAC) Sector is one of the key sectors for combating the climate crisis, and the switch to more future-friendly cooling has become a political issue. Therefore, it is crucial for countries to integrate the RAC sector in their Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) under the Paris Agreement. 

Our goal is to support countries in preparing GHG mitigation strategies and in implementing more ambitious NDC measures in the RAC sector. Therefore, we have adapted existing methodologies and developed new tools to “cool your NDC”.

The NDC Helpdesk for the cooling sector was implemented by the global project Cool Contributions fighting Climate Change II (C4 II) (opens in a new window), which was funded by the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Nuclear Safety and Consumer Protection (BMUV) as part of the International Climate Initiative (IKI).
