Ubiblue's Compact Magnetic Refrigeration System (MRS) is a stand-alone unit with a refrigeration power of 400W and a temperature span of 25°C, making it the ideal solution for a range of small-scale applications. The use of permanent magnets may reduce energy costs by up to 50%. Magnetic cooling is becoming an ever-increasing solution used for the cold industry. In a MRS, a controlled magnetic field applies a series of magnetization-demagnetization cycles to the magnetocaloric alloys. Each cycle produces a temperature gradient in the material, and a rapid succession of these cycles produces the final and stabilized hot and cold temperatures in the refrigeration system. Moreover, the MRS uses glycol as a coolant, such that is not environmentally harmful. This technology resolves the two main concerns regarding compressor-bases refrigeration systems: the environmental issue via a gas-free solution as well as the economic issue by using permanent magnets that dramatically reduce energy consumption.
