SuperSmart is an EU-wide project advancing the use of more energy efficient refrigeration, heating and cooling appliances in Europe’s supermarkets by addressing all stakeholders involved in driving the uptake of more climate-friendly food retail stores. SuperSmart has 3 main objectives: to remove non-technological barriers to efficient heating & cooling in the EU food retails sector, training to raise the expertise level for energy-friendly supermarkets among (non-) technical staff, and to support the introduction of a new EU Ecolabel for food retails stores. The project is funded by the EU under the Horizon 220 Innovation Framework Programme. The consortium consists of 9 European partners from the fields of research, analysis, training, dissemination and network-building.
