SINTEF is one of Europe’s largest independent research organisations. Every year we carry out several thousand projects for customers large and small. SINTEF have promoted the use of natural refrigerants since the 1980s, including research for domestic hot water heat pumps, commercial refrigeration and industrial heat pumps. In 2022 SINTEF hosted the IIR Gustav Lorentzen conference on natural refrigerants together with the Norwegian University of Science and Technology in Trondheim.
