SuperSmart is a newly launched EU funded project aimed at achieving environmental benefits through a fast implementation of efficient heating and cooling solutions, as well as significant economic saving potentials through the reductions of the overall energy use in the supermarket sector in Europe.
CIRCE and Shecco are now among the partners supporting this project with their know-how and expertise on green cooling technologies and the accelerated transition to energy efficient and sustainable cooling solutions.
SuperSmart has three main objectives:
1. Removal of non-technological barriers to efficient and sustainable heating and cooling in the European supermarket sector
2. Raising the level of expertise amongst technical and non-technical staff
3. Supporting the introduction of a European Ecolabel for food retail stores.
The SuperSmart project partners invite manufacturers and end-users of heating and cooling solutions within the food retail sector to actively partake in the project and in the formulation of award criteria for the planned European Ecolabel.
