From 6-8 September 2022, Cool Contributions Fighting Climate Change Phase II (C4II) supported the Technology Training Week at the Cold Chain Innovation Hub (CCI) in the Philippines. The Hub is cooled by two R290 split air conditioning units provided in the first Phase of C4.
During the first September week, C4 II implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) on behalf of the International Climate Initiative (IKI) supported the Technology Training Week at the Cold Chain Innovation hub which was established through the Food Cold Chain project implemented by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization on behalf of the Global Environmental Facility (GEF).
What is unique about the training room in the CCI-Hub is that it is cooled by two units of R290 split-type air conditioners provided to the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) by the first phase of C4 project in 2018. After undergoing the mandatory energy performance test for room air conditioners, the Godrej R290 performance rating goes beyond the current energy performance range set for the Philippine market set by energy regulations.
C4 II will be supporting activities on the updating of the Minimum Energy Performance Standards (MEPS) under the energy labelling program and will support private sector companies who wish to have their AC products undergo the Philippine ecolabeling scheme.
