Between the 21st and the 25th of November 2022, several workshops and meetings were held in the Philippines to launch the second phase of the Cool Contributions fighting Climate Change (C4 II) project.

Meeting with the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) on the integration of Fit for Green Cooling Modules in national RAC curricula

The activities in the Philippines focus on:

  • Enhancing current training programs on natural refrigerants though the integration of hydrocarbon, ammonia and CO2 training modules
  • Revisiting of sectoral energy efficiency and GWP refrigerant limit targets for the RAC sector as part of Philippine’s NDC
  • Increase market uptake of natural refrigerants and Green Cooling technologies through cooperation with local manufacturers
  • Improve measurement, reporting and verification (MRV) processes in the RAC sector

 

In a 2-day workshop from the 22nd until the 23rd of November representatives from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), Department of Energy (DOE), RAC industry, NGOs and other relevant public and private stakeholders worked together on solutions to improve the existing RAC MRV system and options to raise ambitions in the RAC sector to achieve the countries NDCs.  

 

The C4 team thanks all participants for attending the workshop and looks forward to the next 2 years of implementation.
