MemberCool Up: Upscaling Sustainable Cooling
The Cool Up: Upscaling Sustainable Cooling programme promotes accelerated technological change in cooling demand reduction, and early implementation of the Kigali Amendment and Paris Agreement. Cool Up focuses on Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, and Turkey as these countries are experiencing fast-growing demand for cooling, increasing final energy consumption, and structural challenges in the energy sector. They also have high potential to boost energy efficiency and increase the use of natural refrigerants in the cooling and refrigeration sector. The goal of the Cool Up programme is to create catalytic change within the refrigeration and air conditioning sector by reducing cooling demand, supporting the phase-down of hydrofluorocarbons, replacing and safely disposing inefficient cooling appliances and refrigerants, and improving cooling appliance operation, training, and awareness. Cool Up’s holistic approach addresses these issues across three themes: policy and regulatory support, development of business and financing models, and increased awareness and market uptake of sustainable cooling technologies. The approach is supplemented by implementation-focused partnerships and building hands-on capacity to enable local and regional stakeholders. Cool Up is led by Guidehouse Germany GmbH. The team includes Frankfurt School, ILK Dresden, Öko-Recherche, United Nations Development Programme, Regional Center for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency, Istanbul Aydin University, Integrated Development Group, Lebanese Center for Energy Conservation, and Royal Scientific Society. Cool Up is part of the International Climate Initiative (IKI). The Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMU) supports this initiative on the basis of a decision adopted by the German Bundestag. …

DIGECA is an instance of the Ministry of Environment and Energy. DIGECA is an instance of the Ministry of Environment and Energy in charge of attending the so-called "coffee agenda", which is responsible for pollution issues from a preventive perspective. Therefore, DIGECA promotes environmental management (through voluntary mechanisms and regulations) in order to guarantee that activities, works and projects, both public and private, are framed within a vision of sustainable development. Mission Design and implement the conceptual, technical and legal tools for the definition of strategies and public policies on environmental quality that favor the prevention, mitigation and reversal of water, air and soil resource degradation. Also, establish the monitoring and control mechanisms that guarantee compliance with these. For this, we work on the basis of a consolidated inter-institutional coordination platform, based on principles of transparency, dialogue and participation, contributing to the country's sustainable development. General Objective Promote improvement in environmental quality and pollution prevention through the design and implementation of tools and technical and legal instruments of environmental management that promote sustainable production and consumption in the various sectors of society, thus contributing to achieve the development sustainable in the country. …
MemberCosysense
Ablehnung kein Bezug zu nat. Kältemittel /Cosysense provides a net zero service to commercial buildings like office and coworking spaces. Our plug-and-play sensors collect user comfort data, indoor environment, and HVAC power that we transform into real-time CO2e emissions. We complement it with databases of outdoor temperature, weather conditions, grid emission factors, and electricity price. We record all information in a serverless database and visualise it in digital dashboards. Our AI model uses the data for dual comfort and energy optimisation every 15 minutes. This represents the dynamic nature of buildings and people’s comfort needs. Looking ahead, we will add dynamic pricing and grid emission factors into the optimisation model for future grid-connected smart buildings. Our AI executes HVAC adjustments through battery-powered wall panel attachment that can be installed to approx. 80% of single and multi-split HVAC models with infrared or manual controls. We can install all our non-invasive devices in 1h without cutting a single cable in clients' spaces. Cosysense creates above 15% power and emissions savings on top of any other IoT existing solution. It has no upfront cost because we lease our sensors for free. Clients pay a subscription fee between $19 and $99 per sensor per month only if the savings we generate are larger than our fee. That is how our clients become more profitable and greener with our solution. …

MemberDanish Technological Institute
Danish Technological Institute is among the strongest partners when it comes to developing and implementing high-tech solutions in companies. We are a key partner in ensuring that the green transition takes place in companies in terms of energy, materials and foods. The green transition requires technological knowledge, test facilities that are ready for industrial use and partnerships in order to achieve its goals. The Danish Technological Institute has been working for development of natural refrigerants for more than 25 years, and has also during more than 25 years helped the Danish Environmental Protection Agency to enhance the national regulation of F-gases which came before the EU and the global regulation. In June 2022 several papers were presented (15th IIR-Gustav Lorentzen conference on Natural Refrigerants | June 13-15 | Trondheim, Norway) in the field of refrigeration and heat pumps. At the DTI home page there are several references for R&D-projects developing new technology with natural refrigerants. There are also references where our lab offers to help companies developing new technology with natural refrigerants. …

MemberECOOLTEC Grosskopf GmbH
ECOOLTEC Grosskopf GmbH aims to offer the refrigerated transport industry solutions for the challenges posed by environmental regulations and CO2 certification. Therefore, the German company has developed a new generation of particularly sustainable, efficient and safe refrigeration machines. Technological highlights of the refrigeration machines are among others the almost emission- and CO2-free drive, the use of the natural refrigerants R1270 (propene) and R744 (CO2) with lowest single-digit global warming potential instead of fluorinated refrigerants with GWP values of approximately 2,000; highest operational safety together with enormous available cooling capacity, coupled with extraordinary energy efficiency. ECOOLTEC has secured the system against leakage into the structure by means of a fully hermetic refrigeration circuit and uses a small refrigerant charge down by 90 percent compared with conventional transport refrigeration systems. The refrigeration process takes place completely outside the cargo hold. In the box body, the non-flammable natural refrigerant CO2 ensures cold distribution. The units are suitable for a wide range of mobile applications. They can be used for the largest as well as for compact box bodies, for trailers and rigid vehicles, in both short and long-haul operations. …
