For this Cool Talk, we have had the opportunity to interview Kim Christensen,
Founder and CEO of Fenagy. Kim is a mechanical engineer; throughout his career he has been working with many different types of refrigerants. He has been part of the refrigeration industry since his first job in 1994 at the Danish Institute of Technology, who was the forerunner on natural refrigerants in the late '80s and the early '90s.11.01.2024 News Regional NOU Officers Negotiation Training held in Nairobi

11.01.2024 News Training of Trainers in Colombia: Setting an enabling environment for R290 introduction in air conditioning
In two sessions held in August and September 2023, 32 SENA trainers from the whole country participated in a training for the safe handling of inflammable refrigerants in AC equipment. This promotes the use of devices with ultra-low GWP and high efficiency, such as those with natural refrigerants. The trainings are part of the GCI III project, implemented by Proklima.

Professor in refrigeration technology at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU). In 1995 he joined SINTEF, in this capacity as researcher he worked closely with NTNU on CO2, air conditioning and other refrigeration systems at that time. The 28th Conference of the Parties (COP28) of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) will see the first Montreal Protocol Pavilion that highlights the Montreal Protocol's enormous achievements in climate protection. Together with 15 partners, headed by the Ozone Secretariat, we have prepared an exciting programme.
01.12.2023 News Training of trainers for highly energy efficient split R290 ACs in Ghana
In October 2023, 18 trainers from ten different institutions and companies participated in a 4-day training for trainers in Ghana on highly efficient Green ACs running on the ultra-low refrigerant Propane (R290). The training was organized jointly by EPA (Environmental Protection Agency)-Ghana and GIZ’s project Sustainable Energies and Energy Efficiency for Climate Protection in Ghana (SE4C).

Grenada's National Ozone Unit (NOU) in collaboration with the global project Cool Contributions fighting Climate Change II (C4 II) is actively advocating for the use of natural refrigerants in refrigeration and air conditioning appliances by launching a new version of the Green Cooling label.

Between 21 and 25 August, two trainings were organized to equip RAC technicians and trainers in Grenada with the necessary knowledge to safely use and handle the natural refrigerant propane while facilitating the exchange of experience and expertise at the local and the regional level.

Energy Efficiency is an important matter to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from the growing refrigeration and air conditioning (RAC) Sector.
The Multilateral Fund (MLF) to the Montreal Protocol is offering a new funding window on financing energy efficiency in the RAC Sector (Decision 89/6 and 91/65). How can this funding window be used? Around 50 participants had lively exchanges on that question at our interactive World Café on Effective Energy Efficiency Measures.
